Holmes RDA
The Holmes RDA by Cigreen is a wonderful debut. This rebuildable atomizer is not only uniquely designed, but is extremely affordable at just under $30. So what makes this rebuildable atomizer unique and how does it perform?
The Holmes RDA is very much in the style of RDA’s like the Magma by Paradigm or the Veritas in that the air flow is directed right under the coil for maximum flavor. But unlike the other 2 RDA’s, this one is less than 1/3 of the price and delivers results that keep up right alongside the other 2.
Design and Performance
The Holmes RDA breaks down into 3 main sections. There’s a 2 post deck, an air flow chamber below and a 3-fin top cap that screws on to the unit. The base features an impressive air flow control ring offering 4 options of air flow for the four air flow channels. The control ring clicks into place and is easy to adjust and dial in the perfect setting.
Also worth noting is the juice well – its massive. I can easily get 15-20 drops of juice in here without any issue. In fact I’ve not seen a design quite like this that stays as small as the Holmes. Its not the shortest RDA available, but considering how big the juice well is – its quite impressive.
Performance and flavor are very close to the Magma and the Veritas. In fact, I think the vapor production is just a little bit better than the other 2 devices because the airflow is thought out much differently. There are 4 channels on the base of the unit that come together into the 2 output holes right beneath where the coils are placed.
The 510 connection features a copper pin for maximum power connectivity and the base is engraved with a logo and serial number.
Is the Holmes RDA for me?
If you value flavor over cloud blowing then yes this is your RDA. And coming in at under $30 its well worth the money to find out. When you buy your Holmes RDA, it comes in a nice package with extra parts.
I’m really happy to see more affordable RDA devices coming on to the market and I’m also very impressed with the unique designs and options we are starting to see. The affordable nature of these makes them more accessible to people and we’re seeing unique designs that aren’t just knockoffs of more expensive units.
