Smaller is better! This seems to be the new trend in RDA’s. When paired with the right mechanical mod, these new tiny rebuildable atomizers create a perfectly stealth but powerful setup.
The Derringer atty was one of the first atomizers to come along and challenge how tiny a set up could actually be. When you pair this with something like the Praxis or the 4nine, its barely taller than the 18650 battery itself. I personally like this for a mech mod setup. There are times when you’re out with friends where you just want something small thats going to fit in your pocket and not be a drag to carry around all night. The REMatty takes this to another level.
The REMatty from REM Creations (the folks who brought you the SMPL mod) is the shortest atomizer on the market at the time of writing this. Its about 23mm tall from the base to the top of the drop tip. What’s very cool about the REMatty is that it takes the concept of the Derringer and adds more features. The most interesting of this is the airflow. You control the airflow by turning the drip tip which adjusts how much air comes through to the coils. This does use a built-on drip tip but its very nice. Its a wide bore design so you won’t have difficulty dripping to the coils.
The build deck is quite nice as well. Its hard to design these since they are so small, but the REMatty does a really nice job of design. The negative posts screw right into the deck, and the holes are large enough to accommodate lower resistance wire.
If you’ve had experience with short atty’s like the Derringer, the Bambino and now the REMatty – they are wonderful. I pair mine with my copper 4nine mod and absolutely love this setup for stealth vaping on the go.
