The Orchid has been out for a while and some swear by this tank as the next evolution of the Kayfun. The Orchid is a Rebuildable Tank Atomizer that comes from the folks at Aethertech. Aethertech are known also for the Plume Veil Dripper.
The Orchid RTA is indeed similar in design to the Kayfun, but has better airflow, a standard 4 hole, 3 post deck and is (in my opinion) a much better design. This is what the Kayfun should have evolved into.
Version 1 was released last year and you can now get the long awaited Version 2. There are many improvements and differences from the first version.
The chimney is now a 2 piece design. Version 1 was kind of difficult to build and test on. Having the chimney in two pieces allows you to test as you build the device. This is a very welcome change. There are airflow control screws next to the airflow holes. You have complete control over the airflow as well as the option of single airflow for people who do 1 coil builds.
The tank has been upgraded as well to a Polycarbonate tank. Tank capacity has now been increased to 3.5ml!
The first version had some pretty annoying leaking issues that have now been fixed. Aethertech have designed Version 2 with dual top filling screws. These make it easier to fill the tank and create an airtight seal.
The Orchid is a fantastic tank. If you want the feel of a rebuildable dripper, but need the convinience of a tank – I would definitely recommend you check out the Orchid. Its definitely not the cheapest tank your going to find, but it is wonderfully built and the performance is outstanding.
